Happy New Mustard Year
May the New Year bring you joy, health, love and some delicious mustard.
It is now time to say good by to 2025. What a year it was! So many ups and downs, it felt like a roller coaster. 2025 started very smooth and easy - until the new government from our neighbours took over. The decision was made very quickly to cancel shipments to the US and as a result, we got overwhelmed with love, support and orders from across the Country from our fellow Canadians. Micha and I worked hard to get all the orders out as fast as we could - and we made it in time for our vacation. The vacation was planned for a long time and we looked forward to see our family in Germany again.
Thank you all again for the amazing support. We truly appreciated it.
After the vacation we started fresh and full of energy into the summer. Making a lot of mustard, pickles, chow and sauces. But, we decided to skip the Farmer's Market this year in Charlottetown. It is hard work and since we are not the youngest anymore, slowing down a bit sounded a good idea. But, you guys kept us so busy, there was never a dull moment.
The biggest achievement this year was winning the Gold medal for our "Roasted Garlic" mustard at the World Mustard Competition. (Its like a gold medal at the Olympics - just with mustard). We couldn't have been prouder.
We experienced so many wonderful moments - especially at the shows we attended. So many special moments when a new customer tries our mustard and got hooked. That is what keep us going. Because there are also bad moments where we were struggling. e.g. A big shipment (value of over $1000 retail) got lost in transit without a trace. (and no, no insurance would cover it) So every shipment goes out with a little anxiety. Purchasing ingredients and jars was getting more difficult. Micha and I both had some health issues we had to deal with. Luckily nothing serious, but it slows you down. There were a lot of little things which made the year very "interesting".
The Holidays were a nice little break to take a deep breath again and reflect on the year.
We can be very happy to live in a wonderful place like this, making the mustard for the best customers. With a heart full of love, we like to express our deepest gratitude. Thank you for all your support and that you love our products.
